Project fabrication at AMF: Tailor-made clamping solutions for manufacturing

Declining batch sizes and an increasing variety of parts require greater flexibility in workpiece clamping.

Standard products are often insufficient, particularly for complex machining processes. AMF develops and manufactures bespoke clamping fixtures tailored to the requirements of the specific production process.

It is crucial to incorporate clamping technology into the planning process as early as possible. Right from the start of the project, the workpieces, machining sequences and machine specifications are taken into account. On this basis, fixture concepts are developed that take into account both the technical requirements and the cost-effectiveness of production.

Direct coordination and flexible solutions

At AMF, design, production and project management work together right from the start. The design engineers liaise directly with the customers’ points of contact. This shortens decision-making processes and facilitates the implementation of individual requirements. Depending on the application, standard clamping elements are combined with other clamping technologies.

Examples of how this works in practice include clamping fixtures for the automated machining of aluminium castings, as well as modular solutions for large components in printing press engineering. An adapted fixture design enables set-up times to be reduced, machining processes to be simplified and process reliability to be increased.
